City Christmas Tree Lighting is a tradition across most cities in the United States. In Kenosha, the lighting of the Christmas tree is done as part of an event dubbed “Lightin’ Up”, and it signifies the beginning of the holiday season. Before the actual lighting of the tree, attendees are treated to Christmas-themed musical performances and a visit from Santa. The tree is finally fired up at five in the afternoon.
