Baked By Melissa was created by Melissa Ben-Ishay, who has always wanted to go into business ever since she was a kid. The right time came when she got fired from her job and gave her the opportunity to start the cupcake business she has always wanted. She started creating and selling the bite-sized cupcakes with a little stuffing on top that she is now known for. Since then, she’s also added macarons to their line-up and most recently, she added gluten-free bakery in New York City to her title when she added gluten-free cupcakes to their product line-up. Some of the shops around the world continue to be a retail store for their macarons and there are Laduree restaurants around the world that serve meals all day. Laduree may be on our list of the gluten-free bakeries in New York City because of their macaron but they’re also on our list of NYC restaurants with lots of gluten-free meal choices. Upon returning to New York in 2010, she opened a gluten-free bakery in New York City and continues to provide delicious gluten-free food to those who can’t have gluten.
