Nago Kanucha Resort, where you can experience a high quality stay in Okinawa

Loosen up poolside and calmly do nothing, what a treat!

The Kanucha Resort has a garden pool which is made to resemble a coral sea, an indoor pool so you don’t have to worry and a beachside pool next to the sea but, out of the three the most elegant time would be had at the beach side pool.

Sipping cocktails under white parasols, and just relaxing while the hours just melt away. If you’re staying for a few days you definitely have to spend at least one of them just doing nothing. This is definitely the Okinawa experience done right.

A cart is a must have to move about efficiently

The resort is a spacious 683 acres. Walking under the hot Okinawan sun is out of the question. At the Kanucha Resort they have these carts which you can rent but you have to have a valid driver’s license to rent them.

For those not confident in driving there are trolley buses that regularly make rounds. They operate from 6am to 10pm and you can catch one every 15 minutes, and are free for guests of the hotel. The trolley bus stops at the hotel’s guest facilities as well as the beach and other facilities, so riding it once to get acclimated with where what is, is a great idea.

There are many guest buildings around the site, the North Wing with 96 rooms, Orchid which has 70 rooms, Palm Towers with 30 rooms, and finally New Cottage with only 2 rooms. This resort is so big going to the beach from the furthermost Palm Towers would be impossible without a cart or bus.

Driving to Yagaji or Kouri islands

This article is about having a relaxing stay at Kanucha Resort but sometimes we want to explore what is outside the hotel don’t we? Why not take a trip down to Yagaji or Kouri islands? 40 minutes outside of Kanucha Resort is Yagaji island. From there you can get to Kouri island.

Both islands can be reached by bridge. It almost feels like you’re driving on the water. There are no shoulders on these roads so no matter how good the view is from atop the bridge you can’t stop unfortunately.

The picture above is unfortunately taken on a cloudy day but on sunny days the bridge penetrates straight through both sea and sky.

The view from Kouri bridge

There is a parking space before getting on the bridge to Kouri Island, where you can see both the island and the large bridge that ties the two islands together.

In the picture you can see the ferry that goes to Izena island from Okinawa island. The ferry goes from Unten port at Nakijinson to Izena island and takes roughly 55 minutes.

The urge to travel to Izena island while watching the ferry lazily come into port.

Watching the night fall while taking a bath in the hot tub on the terrace

Take an elegant bath after coming back to the hotel. Each room has a terrace and a hot tub, where you can watch the sky dye orange in luxury, and then watch as the night sky fills with stars. Champagne in one hand, bathed in the moons cool glow under the stars, this is definitely something to experience at this resort hotel.

When you get hungry hop on a rental cart to make a dinner run. You can choose from many different restaurants here at Kanucha Resort. Even if staying several nights the selection is wide enough that you wont get tired of the same meal.
