One of the special features of this restaurant is that it is located in Colombo’s four-hundred-year-old ancient Dutch hospital and features an open kitchen format with minimalistic decor. Ministry of Crab offers innumerable varieties of crab meat and its sole decor is the arrangement of crab-claw plants.

It was Chef Dharshan Munidasa who had set up this restaurant along with Sri Lankan cricketing legends Kumar Sangakkara and Mahela Jayawardene. You can understand from the name of this restaurant that it serves endless varieties of crabs. The restaurant is called Pilawoos by many. This restaurant at Hotel De Pilawoos is famous for perhaps the finest cheese kottu in the city, which is a roti that is sliced up with a variety of fillings and cheese. Kotthu is a special dish of Sri Lanka that is made from Godhamba roti, meat or eggs, and exotic spices. Cheese Kottu was later added in its menu and was an instant hit dish in the restaurant.
