Not to worry, though; this list of 10 affordable yet delightful HomeAway and Vrbo vacation rentals will help take some pressure off your bank:

We handpicked these listings carefully, considering (wherever possible) Superhost status, recent guest reviews, location, accommodation type, prices, availability of dates, decor, and amenities. Located in the heart of Trastevere, a young neighbourhood by the River Tiber and known for its nightlife, you are well set to discover a more local side of the city. Entering the apartment feels almost like stepping into a different world, with tones of soft purples and blues creating a magical atmosphere. A well worn staircase leads to the loft, which is your sleeping quarters. If you have other guests, the sofa can be converted into a bed as well. Watch out for your head! You could have a bumpy start to your morning if you’re not careful. Keeping the theme of purples and blues, the bathroom, which features a standing shower, is modern and chic.

This hidden street is also one of my favorite places for eating out. A lovely dinner in Rome on this beautiful cobblestone street while being surrounded by lovely decorative lights is the best. You can check out the street here: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/ROwbH4R-CXQ

3. Wonderful and charming apartment with balcony near the Coliseum (From 141 USD)

Located in a historical district between Coliseum and Termini station, you are well linked to public transport facilities. The apartment is on the top floor of the building, but thankfully there’s a lift that you can take up. The district is lively but the noise won’t reach you as the apartment overlooks a courtyard and a common garden. The open-plan common area exudes cheeriness and warmth, and you’ll be glad to be able to call this place home while you’re in Rome. The kitchen is well equipped so you can try your hand at cooking a pot of cacio e pepe (traditional Roman pasta dish). Sunlight spills in through the windows into this sunny double bedroom. The second bedroom is also bright and spacious, with 2 independent twin beds and well-placed decorations sprucing up the room.

You will have no trouble falling asleep in such a delightful atmosphere. The living room is a peaceful space with a comfortable sofa bed, LCD TV, and Bluetooth stereo for your entertainment needs. An Italian coffee maker and American coffee maker provided in the fully equipped kitchen will take care of your daily caffeine fix.
