Built out of old freight boxes used for shipping, the Smoky Park Supper Club has both an intimate and rustic setting. I think this makes it the perfect venue for a small gathering or a large party. You can choose to dine either indoors or al-fresco, but we highly recommend the latter option as you would be treated to a serenading view of the French Broad River with the Asheville skyline in the background. We suggest making an early reservation at the Sunset Terrace restaurant located at Grove Park Inn, simply because the views of the sunset and the Blue Ridge Mountains in the distance have been described as phenomenal. Some say that it is ‘out of this world’. We’ll let the picture above speak for itself! The food is generally excellent as well. For lunch, try their sandwiches and their range of steak cuts and savor their seafood dishes during dinner. Do try their macaroni and cheese as well!

The Montford Rooftop Bar is another great place to catch stunning views of the sunset and the mountains. Be sure to come early, as the good seats usually get taken up fast. Nonetheless, you should be able to enjoy the view from almost any spot in the bar. Take note that smoking outdoors is not allowed. If you want unobstructed views of the urban nightlife in the city, I’d recommend visiting Twisted Laurel at Asheville in the evening.
