Shows like Gossip Girl and Sex and the City just make me love New York even more. Although I could never replicate the ~swanky~ life styles that the characters in each of these shows lived (unfortunately, my non-existence trust fund hasn’t kicked in yet), I’ve spent too many hours dreaming of being best friends with Blair/being Blair of Gossip Girl or heading to a fun opening with Carrie from Sex And The City. So even though I haven’t yet found my Chuck Bass, I can pretend to live like him and the rest of our favorite UES’s and dine at some of the iconic restaurants featured in these shows. You may recognize Rosario’s as Red’s family restaurant Dimitri’s. Rosario’s is an incredible Italian deli that also makes delicious pizza. While not technically in Manhattan, a trip to Rosario’s Deli is just a quick trip to Queens. And if you’re stopping by, make sure to grab a slice of the “secret pizza”, which has a crisp and chewy crust dusted with some cornmeal and topped with fresh house-made mozzarella.

Delmonico’s Steakhouse is a staple fine dining restaurant in the Financial District and considered one of the best in the city. It has amazing and innovative menu items, despite being one of the oldest restaurants in America. You can dine on Delmonico Potatoes and Steak in a private dining room and be transported back to scenes from Boardwalk Empire.

Clearly rainbow bagels and Dan Humphrey weren’t enough to make us flock to Brooklyn, so in case you need another reason be sure to check out Cafe Grumpy. This cafe was featured on Girls where Ray and Hannah work as baristas. It’s the perfect place to grab a croissant and sip on coffee while you people watch and hope to see Lena Dunham walk by looking for another filming location.

Hopefully you’ll have an easier time getting a table at Balthazar than Carrie and Samantha, but if not, the wait is definitely worth it. This restaurant gives vibes of a Parisian brasserie and is popular among city residents as the ambiance is lively and the food is always fresh and delicious.

7. Buddakan - Sex and the City
Buddakan is the beautiful restaurant where Carrie held her rehearsal dinner. It’s a trendy Chinese restaurant in the Meatpacking District with stunning two story ceilings and old world charm. It’s definitely one of the more affordable restaurants that Carrie and the girls dine at (with entrees starting at 11 USD) and a must-see and must-eat spot.

Just because Jenny Humphrey’s birthday party underwent a ~venue change~ doesn’t mean you can’t check it out for yourself. While Socialista has a great cocktail menu and old-timey charm, their food is to die for. Personally, I would recommend the Mac & Cheese, but honestly everything is just really good.

Last, but certainly not least, Veselka is the place to go for pierogis and clearly a favorite for Dan and Vanessa. Found in East village, this popular Ukrainian restaurant is thankfully open 24 hours a day - so you’ll never be far from fresh pierogis.
