Since I live nearby and have been visiting the restaurants, markets, and shops here for years now, I know every nook and cranny like the back of my hand. I will recommend two of the most famous restaurants in the area known for authentic Bengali cuisine - Bhojohori Manna and Kasturi Restaurant. Kasturi, I prefer a tad more, because of its superb mutton and fish thalis. The aam panna sherbet is my favorite, especially if I am visiting on my birthday, which is in June, and the city is still reeling from bouts of heatwave.

The one name that comes to mind whenever I think of my most recent visits to Salt Lake is The Steak and Grill, which is close to this accommodation.
