There are parks in the forested Swan Creek Preserve, which are great for hiking and exploring. This shopping center on Monroe street, previously known as the Target Shopping Center, has had a major makeover back in 2013. However, the original tenants, including Target, Golf Galaxy, OfficeMax, and Shoe Carnival, are all still here.

2. Franklin Park Mall

Franklin Park Mall’s tagline is “Live 360”, which gives you an indication of what its priorities are beyond shopping. It offers its shoppers classes, demonstrations, workshops, and events for the community to enliven their space beyond the boutiques. 5. Toledo Town Center

While Toledo Town Center isn’t a new urban strip, it seems new because of the new stores cropping up now and again. The urban strip mall is found on the southwest corner of Collingwood Boulevard, so if you’re staying in downtown Toledo, this is a great area for you to people watch and shop. It’s also close to I-75 and is just near a new real estate development. There are few convenient favorite brands here, like Dollar Tree, Advance America, Villa Shoes, and Brightside Academy.

6. Miracle Mile Shopping Plaza

Toledo Commons is found between Detroit Street and Byrne Avenue, one of the busiest areas in Toledo. And why not? It has, after all, a brand new Wal-Mart Super Center. Cover 55,000 square feet (5,109 square meters) of Wal-Mart goodness. Shop for everything from electronics and toys to jewelry and fragrances. There are also national retailers across the Super Center, which includes T-Mobile, House of Meats, Sally Beauty, and GameStop.

8. Cricket West Shopping Center

Cricket West Shopping Center is perhaps one of the oldest malls in West Toledo. The 56-year old shopping center has seen better days, but it has recently been rejuvenated with the addition of 18, mostly-local, tenants. There’s Cake in a Cup, owned by local bakers Lora Jacobs and Dana Iliev. There’s also Zingo’s Mediterranean restaurant, owned by restaurateur Erika DeWood. Razelle, a tech solutions store, is here, as well. Finally, there’s SIP Coffee House, a charming local coffee shop. It’s a great stop before heading back to your hotel or Airbnb vacation rental.

10. Manhattan Plaza Shopping Center

The Manhattan Plaza Shopping Center underwent a revival of sorts in 2009 when Kroger’s left the center. In its place is a Shoppers World, which is leasing the 50,000 square feet (4,645 square meters) space left by Kroger’s. There are now also small local leasers like Play On Restaurant, Manhattan Wireless, and Mr. Hero to help invigorate this old area, which has been standing for over a decade. They also have a Family Dollar store, a Rent-a-Center, and an H&R Block. With its “Save a Lot” mentality, many locals drop by here to get their fill of bargain supplies.
