Check out Clanton Parks and you wouldn’t have to stay indoors in this city. The well-maintained Clanton Parks is the largest playground of this city that comprises one soccer ground, seven tennis courts, and over ten baseball fields. Besides, there is a disc golf course, jogging track, and clean restrooms. You can come and start playing anytime with the locals; however, watching the game is also not a bad idea to spend some time.

We could have suggested any restaurant from this city but Kountry Kitchen really deserves a position on our list. This restaurant has been serving very good food since the year 1964 which is also very reasonably priced. The usual lunch buffet at Kountry Kitchen would cost you less than 10 dollars; even some coffee chains have put a higher rate for their cup. And the buffet menu is also generous; it includes tea, coffee, desserts, and several meal options. Kountry Kitchen has an à la carte menu as well besides the buffet.

Whether you’re seeking a place to stay when crossing Clanton in your camper truck, or planning a casual camp out, at YellowHammer RV Campround, anyone can go camping while still remaining within the city borders. This 17 acres (7 hectares) of private campground is located on the edge of Clanton, providing about 50 sites to park your RV trailers. There is also a small spring-fed fishing lake within the campground, where you can catch crappie, bass, and catfishes. The restroom area is spotless and they offer amenities like cable television and WiFi for free, once you have reserved a space.

4. Spend a day out at Higgins Ferry Park


If you were looking for a more natural landscape to camp, then you should consider Higgins Ferry Park. It is located on the banks of Coosa River, and this site is literally shrouded by forest land. By the way, this particular section of Coosa happens to be the tailwater of Lay Dam, and better known by Mitchell Lake. Fishing is great in this reservoir, as it’s deep and the expansion is also enormous. You can easily reserve a space for your motorhome here; the parking is plenty and it’s a bit far from the city. The park also does a firework celebration on 4th of July.

5. Visit a farmer's market at Peach Park

Peach Park was opened in the year of 1984 as a highway fruit-stand, however, it has grown to become a grand 7-acre (3 hectares) property after all these years. This estate now features a farmers’ market, a barbecue restaurant, a cake bakery, a gift shop, and much more. Take our suggestion and make a visit. Peach Park incorporates a beautiful garden at its back as well; which features fountain, lighthouse, and an RV camping site. Peach Park also has a camping spot–do check it out as well.

We are suggesting this diner, so you could have something better to do when you will get bored in Clanton. This restaurant holds entertaining performances each evening to please the guests, free of cover charges. Most of the times, there will be live musical shows by local bands. Other times, there could be karaoke sessions, and people clubbing on the dance floor. They serve alcoholic beverages and also allow smoking.
