This theater is located in the heart of the city and stages performances all summer. With the mission of enhancing both the tourist experience and keeping the local audiences entertained, the North Country Center for the Arts (NCCA) was founded. The non-profit organization then went on to stage its first event in 1986 which received a roaring response. The following year, the NCCA produced its first mainstage season under the banner of the Papermill Theatre Company and produced works such as Carnival, Harvey, Deathtrap, and Cabaret.
The paper mill was closed in 2009 which gave way to Jean’s Playhouse in 2012. The performing arts theater produced The Wedding Singer, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, and A Grand Night for Singing in its first season.
