4. Tour on a bike from the Lundahoj system
In this flat, small town, filled with students, some of who are financially challenged, it’s no surprise that cycling is the most-used means of transportation. The Lundahoj system is the city’s cycle-hire scheme boasting over 250 bikes at 17 stations spread across the western part of the city, including the university. Lundahoj runs 24 hours, all through the year. Get a short-term pass which goes for 2.62 USD, borrow a bike, and explore the city for three days. Try to return the bike within 30 minutes to any of their stations to avoid extra charges. Also, as a piece of advice, stick within the city center, as paddling uphill can be very stressful.

The oldest museum in Sweden is located in Stockholm. Kulturen is the second oldest museum in the country. This open-air museum is home to many artifacts that tell the incredible story of the city’s past. The museum was opened in 1892 and it lies smack in the middle of Lund Cathedral and Lund Botanical Garden. Some of the artifacts of the museum have been moved to ensure their preservation. However, some still maintain their original positions. The open-air museum has about 30 exhibition rooms where you can have a taste of how life was in ancient times. The museum boasts over two million artifacts from every part of the province.

8. Admire the architecture of Lund University Main Building

9. Marvel at the interiors of All Saints Church
All Saints Church is an 18th-century church that was part of the original designs of the famous architect Helgo Zettervall. It was built on the orders of Bishop Henrik Thomander who sought a replacement for the smaller Lund Cathedral. Also referred to as Konstall, Lund Art Gallery is a lovely spot in the city where you can view and meditate on art. The museum features a beautiful collection of modern art. The structure itself is a work of art. It was designed by a Modernist, Klas Anshelm and looks very stunning. Although it mostly highlights skills from Swedish folks, the museum plays host to several international artists every year. Schedule your visit to coincide with the shows and ponder over modern art. Interestingly, there is a research room and studio within the gallery’s walls for you to explore and learn.

12. Discover the Drotten Church Ruins
As stated in the introduction, Lund is famous for being the seat of religious authority in ancient Sweden. Drotten Church was the seat of this authority. However, this glorious edifice was torn down by the Reformers back in the 15th Century. Surprisingly, after several years, the site remains in excellent condition. It was rediscovered in the 1970s, and some of the things found were moved to an underground museum. On the grounds, you will find the oldest stone church in the city. One more thing: admission is free.

13. Stroll around Lundagård
Located in the middle of the Lund Cathedral and the impressive University Main Building, Lundagard is a lovely place to be. This place, like almost all places in Lund, has quite a mysterious past. 16. Check out the historic clock, Horologium mirabile Lundense
Horologium mirabile Lundense is a historic clock located at the summit of Lund Cathedral. This 13th-century clock is a prominent landmark in Lund. Although Lund Cathedral itself is a historic landmark, this clock also draws tourists and observers from all over the world. Two knights mark the hours on the clock. This masterpiece is astronomical. It shows the varying phases of the moon and the setting point of the Sun. The lower part of the Horologium mirabile Lundense has a calendar. The calendar board expires in the year 2123, after which it will be replaced. You shouldn’t miss its thrilling sight.

17. Take a photo of the iconic Skyddsmantelmadonnan
One of the strangest and eeriest structures in Lund, and in the whole of Sweden is the modern take on the Virgin Mary - Skyddsmantelmadonnan. The sculpture is a depiction of the Virgin Mary, but with a twist. Adorned with a cloak, the Mary Sculpture has 12 heads poking out of the cloak. The original from which the Swedish sculptor - Lena Lervik drew inspiration, depicts Mary protecting Christians. However, Skyddsmantelmadonnan describes the protection of Mother Earth.
