During a visit to the Triple Brick Museum, sort through artefacts which include surveying equipment, flax and wool spinning wheels, railroad items, pottery, glassware, and many other items related to the industrial, social, and cultural history of Martinsburg. The house was built by owner, Philip Showers, in 1874 and was used to house railroad workers and their families. Scour through exhibits containing fossils, stone tools and arrowheads, and uniforms worn by American soldiers during various wars.

11. Travel back in time at historic General Adam Stephen House
Take a step back in time to 1789 to when General Adam Stephen built this classic brick home. In 1959, it was decided that the house would be restored to its original condition by acquiring furnishings that would be consistent with the early period of the home. The local community along with civic and patriotic groups were able to restore the house to reflect its original condition which resulted in it being placed on the National Register of Historic Places and opened to the public for tours as a historic house museum.

The L. Norman Dillon Farm Museum is situated on land which was once owned by L. Norman Dillon, a long-time farmer in the Martinsburg area. He donated funds to create a museum which would pay homage to America’s agriculturists, a place to connect generations with the land, and to display how the food was raised and processed in West Virginia’s Panhandle. Although the apple orchards are for the most part no longer in operation, visitors can still find the tools and details of the techniques of the trade at Dillon Museum.
