A French company built Negril Lighthouse in the late 19th century with concrete and an automated lantern fixed at the top. See the magnificent lamp which utilizes solar energy, and switches from white to a red light every two seconds. The Jamaican authorities maintain it with full staff facilities for frame keepers.
