The observation deck on the 91st floor is said to be one of the highest open-air observation decks in the world. It has one of the fastest elevators, as well. When you are done with your adventure up the tower, take a break for a snack and some shopping.

Here's the view of Taipei101 after i climbed 100000 stairs (i am not even kidding, the amount of STEEP stairs) to get to this view. Even a group of fit-looking guys were panting and crying for help, when I was on my way down. Had to be mean and tell them "it's still a long way to go, all the best" HAHA!

2. Say "hello" to the animals at Taipei Zoo

Taipei Zoo, located in Wenshan District, is a great place to go see animals from all around the world. Easily accessible from Taipei Zoo Station, which is part of the Metro, the zoo is a top tourist destination and a popular place amongst the locals. It caters to families with small children as it comes with play areas and activities for everyone to do together. One of the largest zoos in Asia, it showcases numerous indoor and outdoor displays. 4. Learn about the Father of the Nation at National Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Memorial Hall (from USD 52.0)

8. Check out exhibitions at Huashan 1914 Creative Park

If you are feeling creative, you should head out to Huashan 1914 Creative Park. It used to be a rice wine distillery in 1914, then became abandoned in 1987 after the distillery relocated. In 1997, artists proposed to the government that it should be used as an art center. They were given the go-ahead, and the “Huashan Arts and Culture District” was established in 1999. In 2003, it became a creative and cultural park. This district is filled with art exhibitions, cafes, and little shops selling products and art pieces. 11. Admire the architecture of Bopiliao Old Street

Located close to Longshan temple, Bopiliao Old Street is a popular tourist destination for those who love history. During the late Qing Dynasty, it was one of the busiest streets in Taipei. Bopiliao was known for its coal trade. The buildings diminished over time because the street wasn’t being used as it once was, but in the 2000s, the Taipei government decided to restore the buildings to their original architecture. It is always interesting to visit old homes. This home was the residence of President Chiang Kai Shek.
