Tip from Content Creator
This apartment is only a 16-minute drive away from Taipei 101, the skyscraper you must visit in the city. There's so much to do here, from visiting coffee shops to enjoying photo ops. Get here early to avoid crowds and enjoy the view from the beautiful building. It was definitely worth the price.
There is also a mall at the bottom of the skyscraper that Kyall compared to Marina Bay Sands in Singapore. It was amazing and had a really good food court!
Some things to know about Taipei 101:
- It cost us 600 NTD (18.69 USD) per person for tickets for the 89th floor (which also gives you access to the floor above). It was a bit expensive, but the tickets also came with a few coupons for vendors in the observatory and the mall!
- There are cafes up there but they are expensive. However, you will have the best boba ever if you’re willing to pay the price.
- There is an exhibition on the higher floors, which is super cute. There was a video that explained how they made the New Year's fireworks and it made me cry; it was so emotional!
- The tuned mass damper (the big ball in the video) is the biggest one in the world. The huge ball is a steel pendulum that is hung from several ropes from the 91st to 87th floor. This damper protects Taipei 101 from typhoons and earthquakes.
- Because Taipei can be a rainy city, the visibility isn’t always great. We went on a partially visible day and we could see quite a lot, but be warned that visibility could be bad. There are signs at the reception to let you know if your visit will be affected.
