Also called “Jacob’s Memorial” and part of the Haifa District, Zichron Ya'akov is located at the southern end of the Carmel mountain range overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, near the coastal highway. It is very famous for parks so you may want to visit here and spend a little time unwinding and refreshing.

1. Ramat HaNadiv

A great eco-friendly and well kept park and botanical garden. You will surely love the fact that they are self-sustainable. There is a play park for children to run around in and burn-off some steam. There is a great area for a family picnic on site. However, the highlight is the magnificent view of the botanical gardens. You can walk here for a couple of hours without being bored. In addition to this, Ramat HaNadiv is a beautiful and wonderful large park with many species of flowers to commemorate Edmond de Rothschild. You can avail free access, plenty of parking, and a variety of hiking trails that also start here!

Sababike is a wonderful mountain biking area near the village Yokne'am, about 30 minutes away from Haifa. They provide a bike, backpack with a large water bottle, helmet and snacks. The ride there is very nice, and you’ll be accompanied by a companion. You’ll learn many things including new skills. The area offers mountain biking at multiple levels.

7. Giv'at HaRakafot

This is a nice little hill; in spring time there are lots of flowers and tons of people who come to see them. Come at early spring to see the abundance of flowers. The druze lady at the shack nearby cooks great oriental food. Unfortunately many people trample the flowers into a field of wheat in spite of the signs by playing ball, so be respectful of the floral show during your visit.

A very amazing spot in nature. You may also get the chance to go to the bat-like cave here. It has very easy access, though you may need to have a special suit when entering the cave for safety purposes. Overall, it’s a unique experience!
