Borgo Buio serves a superb meal and welcomes their guests with a lovely glass of prosecco. The chef and owner is very charming and can offer some very informative suggestions on what to choose from the menu. Try their special, dense and flavorful dumplings in a porcini broth and follow it with a plate of tagliolini, generously covered in delicate shavings of white truffle. Trattoria di Cagnano has very friendly service and its employees are friendly and courteous. They serve excellent pappardelle cinghiale, or wild boar, salmon carpaccio and octopus stew. They feature affordable prices, affable staff and, most importantly, great tasting dishes.

They have very knowledgeable staff who speak English fluently and they have reasonably priced tastings (free when you buy a bottle). Bottles of wine here are a bit more expensive than those from the wineries, but here you can sample a variety from different estates, all in one spot.

The food in their cave-style restaurant is also very good and you’ll be sure to want to return. Specialities include braised beef cheek with sweet potato and their pumpkin ravioli with butter and sage.
