1. Romantic apartment near Piazza della Signoria (from USD 212)
If you are a couple visiting Florence, then why not stay in this cosy and romantic apartment located in Piazza della Signoria and Piazza Santa Croce. This property is at the second floor of the building, set on a quiet and tranquil pedestrian area. The property has recently been refurbished and decorated with elegant furnishing. Bed linen and towels are included with the rent. The property is close to major amenities like gelatarias, restaurants and bars. What is more attractive about this property is that all the major sightseeing points are within walking distance. Up to five guests can be comfortably accommodated here.
Tip from tour guide
As you'll be steps away from Piazza della Signoria, make sure to check out the works of art in the plaza. You can take a picture of the bronze relief depicting Perseus freeing Andromeda, created by Benvenuto Cellini in 1554. The original artwork is in Bargello National Museum. Kids love this piece of art, especially as it has a dragon. Don't forget to look at the sculpture in the plaza as well: Perseus with the head of Medusa! It shows more of the hero's story when he releases Andromeda from a rock when a dragon is already preparing to swallow her. If you look at Perseus closely, you'll see a small monster on his helmet. The helmet is the Cap of Invisibility, also known as the Cap of Hades, the god of the underworld. In some stories, Perseus is said to have received the Cap along with the Winged Sandals from Athena. Behind the head of Perseus, you can see a face. Some art historians say that it's Benvenuto Cellini's self-portrait, while others claim it's Hades' face. Perseus hides a lot of secrets and stories!

The host gave me information on finding a parking garage which was very helpfulessentially a "good luck" Had the driving situation been explained from the beginning we would have made different arrangements for arrivingonly We called the owner an texted a few times and eventually he stopped communicating with us while we were there Not what we hoped forbut it just didn't I had specifically emailed the host before hand about being able to drive to the property if only to drop our bags offOnce we arrived we literally drove in a circle for over an hour trying to find it Between the building being too tall and too close together for GPS to understand what was going onLocation:
