Heilbronn lies in the northern state of Baden-Württemberg in Germany and is the sixth largest city in the state. It is located along the Neckar River, which is appealing for its beautiful countryside. It is nicknamed Käthchenstadt, after the renowned German poet and playwright Bernd Heinrich Wilhelm von Kleist’s play, Das Käthchen von Heilbronn oder Die Feuerprobe.

Like its counterparts, the city has its fair share of centuries-old castles and historical churches, like St Kilian’s Church, which was built in 741, but destroyed in 1944 during WWII and later rebuilt. Let’s check out the ten best places to stay in beautiful Heilbronn, Germany.

1. Mercure Hotel Heilbronn (from USD 129)

The Neckar River is just a two-minute walk away, while the Heilbronn Town Hall and St Kilian’s Church is only about 500 metres (1640.4 feet) away.
