Every corner and inch of the hotel is mercilessly splashed with creativity – no empty space is being spared. They do not shy away from quirky wallpapers, uneven wall paintings, or even having a barber chair in the middle of the lobby. It has been carefully designed and it is surprising that the unexpected items and furniture actually come together so well. The best local designers and contractors in the business are responsible for the fun designs of Wanderlust Hotel. In fact, each level of the building is assigned to different contractors with complete freedom to express their creativity. The first level consisting of the lobby, restaurant area and bar have the rustic feel due to the metallic painted walls and industrial-like decorators.
Breakfast fun at Cocotte
Cocotte, the restaurant responsible for the delicious food at Wanderlust Hotel, focuses on French cuisines. One of the highlights of staying at Wanderlust Hotel would be the breakfast deal that comes with your booking unless otherwise stated. The self-service breakfast buffet spread includes gourmet breads and jams, freshly squeezed orange juice and a range of cereals and muesli to choose from. The main breakfast course can be ordered off the menu. They offer classic western breakfast with typical items like omelette, sausages, mushrooms and tomatoes. Relax in a hot tub
The hot tub located on Level 2 can be accessed by all guests. This terrace space is huge with the hot tub on one side and a sitting area on the other side. Guests can come here to enjoy and relax in the hot tub or take in some fresh air while enjoying the sights and sounds of the surrounding.
Eccentricity at its finest
The lobby is all about the industrial theme with quirky metallic artefacts and odd salon chairs while the second level of Wanderlust Hotel offers eleven 14sqm rooms with each taking the colour of the pantone chart. Have you ever dreamed of staying in a room full of only your favourite colour? Well then, you can count on Wanderlust Hotel to make your dreams come true. Whether it’s orange, purple or pink that you desire, they have it all! Song titles with the corresponding coloured rooms are displayed in neon lights such as ‘Red Light by U2’ in the red room. The yellow room, also known as the Pantone Deluxe at 21sqm, is the only room equipped with a huge cast-iron bathtub.
Simplicity in black and white
As soon as you step out of the lift to the third level of Wanderlust Hotel, you will be greeted by black walls in the corridor. The theme or the concept of this floor with a total of 9 rooms is ‘Is It Just Black or White?’ The corridor is pitch black with only the glow of neon lights to guide you into your room. However, the room itself is the complete opposite of what you have seen. Yes, the room is all white and is filled with pop-art and some that are ‘folded’ walls. The pop-art rooms have creative doodles on the walls that seem to have a 3D effect. Inspired by paper, the origami rooms have ‘folded’ walls and even ceilings equipped with special lighting systems allowing guests to choose what colour they want their room to be in. One for each of the day that you are staying in the hotel if you ask me!
The whimsical floor
The highest floor of Wanderlust Hotel holds the most adventurous theme and the coolest decorated lofts of all time. The lofts have high ceiling making it look like a double storey room with the queen sized bed located upstairs accessible only by stairs or ladder. All the rooms are equipped with cast-iron bathtub and a couch big enough even for two people. The rain shower and toilet are located on the lower floor while the LCD TV is located upstairs together with the bed. The most popular and most requested room at Wanderlust Hotel would be the spaceship themed room. Yes, a standing rocket and walls painted to be full of glistering stars, this is the ultimate hotel room experience. Other popular themed room would be the typewriter loft where the couch has been designed to look like an actual typewriter with its keys popping out of the head of the couch reaching the ceiling. The treehouse loft has got leaves covering the ceiling, the bark of the tree standing against the wall while the tiles are arranged to look like the roots of the tree. Living in a treehouse? Check!
