Tip from tour guide
Since you'll be living near the ancient city of Hierapolis, make sure to visit the Roman theatre of Hierapolis in Phrygia (Turkey). Located in the middle of Hierapolis, the well-preserved Roman theater dates back to the 2nd century CE, when it was constructed on the ruins of an older theater that collapsed during an earthquake. Built under Emperor Hadrian, the theater was later restored by Septimius Severus. The later additions include limestone and marble carvings on its scaenae frons. A diazoma (passageway) separates the theater into upper and lower enclosures or caveas, which could once accommodate around 15,000 people. Recent efforts have helped restore most of the cavea.Stayed at this property?
