Okay, so you’re on the hunt for some hearty and comforting foods in a snazzy setting albeit not one with a huge price tag? Well, I’ve found the place and guess what? It’s got more than one branch. I introduce you to Delisserie Restaurants which has some fabulous food served in a great ambiance. The Delisserie Restaurants are located in Hatch End, St. Johns Wood, Mill Hill, Temple Fortune, Stanmore and Borehamwood in London. Having experienced the Borehamwood branch, I’m thrilled to now be able to share my experience with you and to confirm that it’s a place to visit!

Gorgeous decor and stylish interior inside

The Borehamwood branch is located at 17-21 Shenley Road, Borehamwood, WD6 1AD and there is plenty of parking in its vicinity including at Borehamwood Shopping Park which is located behind Delisserie Restaurant. Whilst the exterior of this Delisserie Restaurant is nondescript and rather understated, the décor inside is a stylish American extravaganza and resembles that of an upmarket diner. Once you enter the restaurant, you will be greeted by an enthusiastic hostess who will take you to your table and will also explain the service system within the restaurant. This is because the restaurant operates on a service card system which means that you will be given a card with a red and green side and if you would like service, then you need to place the card on one side rather than the other. The seating within the restaurant consists of both booths and non-booth arrangements and a rather cool circular bar area with raised chairs.

An infusion of cultures in one menu

The Delisserie Restaurant menu has a real American feel to it but also shines a light on some wonderful European and especially Mediterranean dishes, so you will definitely find something that excites your tastebuds and appeals to your palate. The drinks part of the menu is lengthy and has some fantastic selections to quench your thirst. Whatever flavour you’re craving on the drinks front, it’s available at Delisserie Restaurant. Homemade lemonades, smoothies, freshly squeezed juices, energisers and milkshakes are all on offer. Keen to be healthy? Have the mint lemonade (for 2.95 GBP/ 4 USD) or an energiser drink that consists of celery, ginger and carrot (for 3.25 GBP/ 4 USD). Carefree of the calories and ready to party? Have a milkshake either with some heavenly toppings like snickers, oreos and even some with alcohol (from 3.95 GBP/5 USD).

Breakfast, brunch, lunch or dinner options available

What I think you will really love about Delisserie Restaurant is that it’s the type of place that you can go for breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner. The extensive menu has something fabulous for each mealtime. Don’t believe me? Read on and be dazzled by the choices and be prepared to hear your stomach rumble!

For breakfast and brunch, the options include crushed avocado on sourdough with or without poached eggs (from 7 GBP/ 10 USD), American pancakes with fresh banana, strawberries and whipped cream (for 7 GBP/ 10 USD) as well as shakshuka, which is baked eggs with roasted vegetables, served with cheese and toasted pita bread (for 8.95 GBP/ 12 USD). The dish that I have to recommend you order though is the falafel wrap which includes hot falafel, hummus, tahini, tomatoes, peppers and cucumbers (8 GBP/ 11 USD). Breakfast and brunch is served until 4.00pm everyday, so if you’re a late riser and fancy some of these dishes later on in the day, fear not.

From the lunch and dinner part of the menu, there are several eye-catching dishes such as the mushroom and avocado latkes, which is a pancake that is made with grated potato (for 5.50 GBP/ 8 USD) and a roasted Mediterranean vegetables and grilled halloumi dish (for 11 GBP/ 15 USD). The best, however, has to be the burgers and there are over 5 different types of burgers which you can enjoy; each served in a toasted bun with salad, pickles and house sauce. The generous falafel burger (for 7 GBP/ 10 USD), as featured in the photograph, is definitely recommended.

An irresistible hot chocolate fudge cake that will blow you away

The plentiful choices on the menu continue through to the scrumptious desserts which will literally take your breath away when they rock up to the table. Enjoying a dessert at Delisserie Restaurant is an event in itself as the desserts are quite frankly unbeatable. If you want something creamy, then order the New York baked cheesecake which comes with either salted caramel or strawberries (5 GBP/ 7 USD). Eager to enjoy something ultra homely? Ask for the apple strudel which is served either with cream or ice cream (5 GBP/ 7 USD). However, if you’re ready to be wowed, dazzled and completely and utterly blown away by a chocolate explosion, then you must order the hot chocolate fudge cake which comes with either cream or ice cream (for 5 GBP/ 7 USD). The hot chocolate fudge cake at Delisserie Restaurant is the most sensational hot chocolate fudge cake that I have ever sampled in my life and I cannot recommend it enough to you.

London Tour Guide

I am a London tour guide and my tours include talking about people who have shaped the city plus the many connected places such as Hampton Court Palace, The Tower of London, Westminster Abbey, the commercial centre of the city: the City of London, and London’s world class museums and galleries. I have been guiding for 12 years. I am a licenced London Blue Badge Tour Guide, a City of London Guide, and a Westminster Guide. The reviews I receive from clients speak of their enjoyment from the local knowledge and the humour I bring to my tours. Born within sight of Hampton Court Palace, I am a Londoner and apart from 2 years in the Middle East, I have worked in this capital city all my business and tour guiding careers. I have travelled widely and I appreciate what appeals to visitors coming to London. I can tailor my tours to interest children. I guide couples, families and larger tour groups. I particularly enjoy visits to Westminster Abbey, where I also volunteer guiding students and children through its wonderful interior – on my tours you will hear about monarchs, why scientists and poets are remembered, the architecture and religious history. The Abbey is the story of England. Come on an engaging and fun tour with me. There is so much to show you !
