Located in the lively Tibetan colony called Majnu-Ka-Tila, the AMA Cafe is known for its delicious desserts, wholesome breakfast, and above all, great atmosphere replete with retrograde music and traditional Tibetan decor. Don’t miss their Himalayan breakfast that includes freshly baked Tibetan bread or try the scrambled egg on toast, which is an English breakfast staple. Pair it up with a cappuccino and end your meal with a Banoffee Pie or Tiramisu. There are only a few tables, but the food and ambiance are worth the wait.

Having lived close to Majnu-ka-Tila, I have lost count of the times I have visited this cafe. I also don't remember a single instance of ordering something bad or mediocre from their menu. Having said that, their Parmarosa Spaghetti and Tiramisu are a must-try.

I use it to understand the healing power of plants: mainly herbs, fruits and vegetables. My hobbies include collecting postage stamps, coins, paper money, reading, music, and of course, gardening. I also love photography, which I have become very good at. Many tourists have enjoyed my personal sightseeing tours. I enjoy meeting people and showing them my world. My lifelong experiences here, combined with my studies, allow me to help people get to know the real India. If you enjoy learning about this way of life, I am the one to come to! I work mainly in Agra, but will create tours to places outside of the city. While my tours are mostly walking tours around the city, I can arrange for transportation as well. If you need accommodation services, I can provide that too. Traveling to India is not just a journey, but an experience!

Tucked away in the heart of Delhi lies Majnu Ka Tila, a settlement that offers a delightful mix of culture, food, and trade. To get there hop off at the Vidhan Sabha metro station, on the Yellow Line. A quick 10-minute ride in an auto rickshaw or e-rickshaw, for just 10 or 20 INR (0.12 - 0.24 USD) on a sharing basis will take you straight to its streets.

Once you arrive your taste buds are in for a treat! One eatery that stands out is THACK THAKALI THE NEPALI KITCHEN. Its cozy atmosphere and delectable breakfast options, and thalis make it a must-visit spot. If you're interested in immersing yourself in traditions don't miss the monastery—a serene oasis amidst the city chaos. The rhythmic chants and stunning architecture provide a glimpse into their culture.

I love the trioccino here—a unique blend of three different kinds of coffee and vanilla ice cream. Do give it a try! They also serve excellent Vietnamese-style iced coffee, in case you'd like something even sweeter. For something savory, my go-to is the chimichurri herb chicken croissant.

Satya Niketan

If you’re in Delhi and keen on a cafe crawl, you’ve got to check out Satya Niketan and Hauz Khas Village. I often spend my afternoons there, moving from one cafe to another. The variety is just amazing. In Hauz Khas Village, grab a seat at a cafe with a lake view - it's my favorite way to enjoy a good cuppa.
