6. Dadri

Dadri is situated around 19 km (11.8 miles) from Ghaziabad. It is known for the world’s largest power project and is managed by the National Thermal Power Corporation. The coal fire thermal power plant generates 840 MW of electric power and 830 MW is generated by the gas-fired plant. There are two cement producing industrial level factories located here. Modi Nagar is located on the Delhi-Mussoorie National Highway. Modi Nagar is named after the Businessman, Gujar Mal Modi but it is said that it was founded by Nawab Zafar Ali. Dasna is located around 10 km (6 mi) from Ghaziabad. The historic site was set up by the Rajput King, Salaris. The local people believe the story, of how the king arrived on the banks of the River Ganges to cure his leprosy and fell in love with the place so deeply that he constructed a fort for himself on the banks. After Salarsi’s rule, the fort and village came under the control of Ahmad Shah Abdali in 1760. You can reach this site via state-run buses.
