Mention New York and it brings to mind a fast-paced and progressive US state often ranking among the best tourist destinations. However, there is a part of New York that has a laid-back lifestyle and a relaxing natural environment not far from its concrete jungle. Upstate New York is part of the northern area of the New York metropolis that encompasses Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse, Binghamton, Utica, and Albany. It covers a vast area of rural land made of farmlands, forests, and mountains, making it one of the popular destinations for recreational and tourist activities. In this region, you will find the Niagara Falls, Finger Lakes, Catskill Mountains, and the Adirondack Mountains. While there are plenty of posh accommodations, such as luxury hotels and family resorts, check out this list of the best cabins with hot tub in Upstate New York.

It is usually celebrated on Mother's Day Weekend in May and offers music performances, food stalls, wine expos, and more. I would not miss the festival if I'm ever in Rochester in May!
