You have probably heard of the mysterious tale of Nessie the Loch Ness monster, and that might be the only thing you know about Loch Ness unless you are a local. Despite thousands of eyewitness accounts affirming the said monster’s existence, Loch Ness remains a scenic attraction that appeals to many outdoor enthusiasts. It has more water than all of England’s and Wales’ lakes combined which means that it is the UK’s deepest lake. Aside from vast landscapes, historic attractions also surround the lake, such as Fort Augustus and Urquhart Castle. The area has many luxury hotels, but camping is a great idea for those who wish to spend more time outdoors. Check out our list of the best campgrounds near Loch Ness, UK.
