The Krabi coastal areas of Ao Nang and Railay beckon brightly with their resort life, white sand beaches, and innumerable ways to unwind, but why not spend a night or so seeing a different side of the island? Krabi Town, located between the resorts and the airport, gives you a small scale immersion into a more local side of life, with interesting architecture, good food on the cheap, and a few sites to boot. Just outside the town is the Krabi Cinta House, a clean, modern place to bed down affordably.
Sparkly new facilities
Krabi Town has an abundance of old buildings that are fun to look at and explore, but somewhat less enticing to spend the night in. By heading out of the center just a kilometer and a half or so, you can stay in Krabi Cinta House’s modern, clean facilities. Since the hotel is set just a bit off the main drag, it’s also a quiet place to relax. Bathrooms are spacious, also sparkly clean, and have plenty of hot water to lavish on you.
Bedrooms that betray the low prices
Spacious, air-conditioned, with a refrigerator, balcony, desk, and so much more, Krabi Cinta House’s rooms give you much more than you might expect for prices as low as 900 THB (25 USD). As you would expect from a resort as new as this, everything from the bed to the hallways is in top-notch condition. A comfortable night’s sleep is not only possible, it is virtually demanded of you when in surroundings as comfortable as this.
Quick and easy check in
The staff speaks English quite well, and is happy to give you all kinds of advice on transit and attractions while you sip on the provided free coffee. They can direct you to restaurants near to the hotel, or in Krabi Town. The hotel also provides competitively priced airport taxi service. If you are interested in going to the Ao Nang beach area, you can easily get there in 15-20 minutes by taxi, tuk-tuk, or jitney bus from Krabi Town.
A quirk or two to save cash
It wouldn’t be a budget hotel without a couple of cost saving measures, now would it? One is that there is no elevator – for humans. There is an elevator for your luggage though, so don’t fret about having to hire a sherpa. Most rooms are on the second or third floor, so it’s not too much of hardship. Toiletries also may not be of the finest, but they’ll do. You will remember that the room is costing 25 USD a night, and maybe even less if you go off-season.
Just right for a night or two
Whether you stay to check out Krabi Town, or just need a night somewhere closer to the airport, Krabi Cinta House fits the bill with budget to spare. Their friendly faces, well equipped room, and cleanliness may leave you wishing you could stay an additional night!
