Nicco Park has plenty of attractions to keep visitors engaged. You need an entire day to explore this amusement park, which even has an Eiffel Tower and MIG21 from Indian Air Force on display! Here’s a look at some things you can indulge in when visiting Nicco Park in Kolkata:

Ride away

With a range of rides for all age groups, Nicco Park has been outdoing itself in entertaining its visitors. Apart from a cable car, there are paddle boats, a carousel, a toy train, and a lot more. Families can soak up the ambiance by taking a languid raft ride along a canal that snakes through the park. Nicco Park has a number of kid-friendly rides that will put parents at ease. Other than a big playground full of swings and rides, the merry-go-round, caterpillar, and a toy train will definitely make kids go berserk! For thrill-ride lovers, the park’s roller coaster, Cyclone, is perfect. Daredevils can ride the Sky Diver and experience an adrenalin rush.

Shoot ghosts and ghouls

Engage in a laser-gun fight shooting ghouls and ghosts in Shoot the Bhoot attraction. This fun, round rotating deck is ideal for perfecting your target skills and getting a few laughs as well.

Experience Oceanica

This is an exhibition of marine animals where one can see underwater creatures up close.

Go splashing in the water park

Nicco Park’s Wet-o-Wild is perfect for water lovers. It has multi-lane slides, swirls, waterfalls, a giant pool, and several exhilarating rides.

Smash the skittles

If you’re a fan of bowling, Nicco Super Bowl, near the amusement park, is the place to visit. Apart from bowling alleys, it has a pool table and air hockey tables. So, knock those skittles down as you test your bowling skills!

Nicco Park has a wide range of amusement rides. For people like me who are afraid of rides, there are other interesting things to do. After spending some time at the Bowlers’ Den, a multi-cuisine restaurant inside Nicco Park, I head to the Nicco Super Bowl. I have visited the bowling alley several times during corporate get-togethers in my previous workplace and absolutely love to play air hockey and coin-operated games apart from hanging out at the pool table. Oh, and did I mention that the tandoori prawns at the Bowlers’ Den are a must-try? They literally melt in my mouth and pack just the right punch.

I sometimes visit Nicco Park with my mother, and I can tell you that the lazy river ride is a must for people who are not really comfortable with adventurous rides. This boat ride takes you through serene nature while you watch the world pass by. I also remember my thrilling experience at River Cave, which happens to be one of the most popular rides here. You get to see dinosaurs and volcanoes while being on a boat that takes you through a dark cave.

Located right above the bowling area is the Bowler’s Den eatery that serves up delicious Chinese and tandoor dishes. The eatery is immaculately clean and offers a great view of the adjacent water park.

If you don’t want a fine dining option, Nicco Park has several canteens and kiosks, serving snacks like French fries, chips, ice-creams, and non-alcoholic beverages.

Last but not the least, Nicco Park also has a food court with a seating facility and a multi-cuisine menu is available too. You will get everything from pasta to burgers to South Indian food here. Both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options are available.

The kiosks are great for grabbing on-the-go snacks, especially if you've come with children. Carry a water bottle/flask that you can fill easily from the water coolers stationed inside the park.

Best time to visit

Avoid weekends if you can as the park is more crowded at that time. Also, Kolkata experiences monsoon from June to August, so it’s best to avoid the park as rain may put a dampener on your plans. The months of October to March are ideal for visiting the park as the weather is pleasant. From April, as summer sets in, it gets unbearably hot and humid, so the outdoors are best avoided.
