3. Manta Bay

Manta Bay is the best spot to observe the manta rays! This diving spot is quite shallow, and sea creatures can be seen from the surface. The shallow waters make this site great for people who can’t swim very well. While here, it is very common to see some friendly dolphins too. Note that there is only one way to get to Manta Bay, and that is by boat. This is because the bay is circled by high cliffs.

Toyapakeh is a large bay, protected from currents, and a popular site for observing the mola mola. Overall, this is a good spot for people who aren’t experienced divers. The average water temperature in summer is 25° (77°F). 5. Nusa Penida Freediving

Freedive Nusa is a freediving school located on the lovely Nusa Penida island. Nusa Penida North Shore is the last, but definitely not the least, diving spot on this list. This place is perfect for divers of any level, and it has very good visibility. Also, this location is very likely to be your favourite, because it is one of the most diverse spots in Nusa Penida. Furthermore, this area boasts many corals and fish species that you will meet as you dive. The current here will often carry you around the site, and you do not need to kick your fins. In addition, the water around these parts is usually warm, so you can have a comfortable dive session.

8. Crystal Bay
Crystal Bay is one of the most popular diving spots in Nusa Penida. The reason for this is mola mola. This lovely creature, also known as sunfish, is rarely seen in other diving spots, but in Crystal Bay, you can see it regularly from July to November. Besides the mola mola, you can also see and admire colourful coral reefs, and then you can even enter Bat Cave from underwater. In this cave, you can see many sleeping bats, but do not be afraid if you see reef sharks inside too. They are not aggressive at all and leave when visitors enter the cave. Just remember that the water has an average temperature of 26°C (79°F) and there are strong unpredictable currents at Crystal Bay, making exploring here an option only for experienced divers.
