Trunyan Cemetery serves up a slice of Balinese traditions and history. It provides you with great views as well as a spine-chilling vibe. The cemetery is boat accessible and houses 11 prism-shaped bamboo enclosures. Once a cage is full, the most decayed body is removed to be replaced by a new one. A piece of information that is most vital at the moment is that by tradition, villages in Trunyan, do not burn or bury their dead. You would neither see a crematorium or a pyre, nor a grave. The corpses are simply left on the ground to decay. Alternatively, you can also opt for a soothing boat ride across Batur Lake to the village of Trunyan.
