Home to its world renowned carnival, Acireale has little to no nightlife. However, that is not to say that there is nothing one can do at night. The neighboring towns of Taormina and Catania offer up much more nightlife activities - a good thing that Catania is 5 kilometers (3 miles) away and Taormina just a short drive away. People go to Acireale to get away from tourist traps in Taormina and other surrounding towns.
