Singapore’s cultural significance cannot be understated, and the city-state’s booming economy, political clout, and magnificent feats of architecture and leisure woven together attract pop royalty and actual royalty. As an erstwhile crown colony, Singapore has entertained three visits by Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip after independence, and the city-state has also been visited by William, Prince of Wales as recently as 2023.

Not to be outclassed by the royals, Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour in Singapore has also attracted its share of pop culture icons. BLACKPINK’s Lisa was spotted at the concert, as was Choi Min-ho from Shinee in attendance. Barry Keoghan also showed up (in purported support of Sabrina Carpenter) for Singapore’s concert of the year.

Safe to say Singapore’s celebrity allure is here to stay, and with the release of The Tortured Poets Department, you can look forward to even more star-studded Swiftie events in Singapore! Unsurprisingly, The Lion City has an astounding collection of premiere hotels that befits its renowned hospitality industry which is experienced in catering to the world’s elite. And now you can stay like royalty and keep a watch out for your idols with our guide to the top celebrity hotels in Singapore!

We went the extra mile and got you a run-down of popular events in Singapore that are bound to attract celebrities from all across the world:

  • Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix: A staple of the Formula 1 races, The Singapore Grand Prix is held on the Marina Bay Street Circuit and is held to be one of the most challenging circuits of F1. Michelle Yeoh, Ke Huy Quan, and Kai Ko were some of the celebs seen at the race last year. The night race is to be held from the 20th to the 22nd of September 2024 and is usually slated for late September most years.

  • Singapore International Film Festival: Usually conducted towards the end of November and proceeding into the first few weeks of December, Singapore International Film Festival is particularly popular among Asian celebrities. With the revamping of its awards, you can expect lots of celebrities to show up at the premieres and award shows.

We handpicked these listings carefully, considering (wherever possible) Superhost status, recent guest reviews, location, accommodation type, prices, availability of dates, decor, and amenities. The image galleries get refreshed with the latest updates regularly. They were last updated on March 05, 2024.

1. Marina Bay Sands - endorsed by David Beckham (from USD 459)

Marina Bay Sands is undoubtedly the most iconic hotel in Singapore, and together with its neighbor, Gardens by the Bay, constitute the typical cityscape photos that capture the public imagination of The Little Red Dot. Naturally, celebrities throng to the hotel, especially because the property (which calls itself an ‘integrated resort’) promises world-class leisure and entertainment all within itself, be it with venues such as its ArtScience Museum (where Lady Gaga held a press conference!) or Sands SkyPark. David Beckham is the ambassador of the Marina Bay Sands, so no wonder the elite prefer the property.

Its multifaceted identity and plentiful venues are perhaps what makes it a hotspot for promotional campaigns and other events, and Marina Bay Sands has hosted promos for Spider-Man: Homecoming, which was helmed by Tom Holland, and Captain America: Civil War, which was led by Chris Evans and Sebastian Stan. Even Tom Hanks and Ben Affleck have shown up at the hotel for various promotional events. Ji Chang-wook, Anthony Ramos, Liza Soberano, Dylan Wang, Tobe Nwigwe, James Reid, and Benjamin Kheng are some of the other celebs recently spotted at the Marina Bay Sands.

If that weren’t enough, Gordon Ramsay has his own restaurant at the Marina Bay Sands, and as a guy who grew up diligently watching the MasterChef series, getting to taste Ramsay’s Beef Wellington at the iconic Bread Street Kitchen seems like a dream come true. There’s also the hotel’s world-famous rooftop infinity pool that is sure to be an experience in itself.

2. Raffles Singapore - a favorite with the royals (from USD 1034)

Opened in 1897, this luxurious hotel has an illustrious history of hosting the cultural elite of the world, so much so that it has its own resident historian to keep the tales up-to-date. However, the hotel doesn’t actually need a historian to speak of its ageless magnificence: the white colonnaded verandahs that punctuate its exteriors, turbanned Raffles doormen who ooze old-world hospitality, and the foyers and halls adorned with chandeliers and vintage wood details will make its history apparent the moment you set foot inside Raffles Singapore.

Its old-world charm makes it especially tempting for royal families the world around, and Raffles Singapore has hosted Queen Elizabeth II, Lord Mountbatten, the King and Queen of Norway, William, Prince of Wales, and Catherine, Princess of Wales. The Sir Stamford Raffles Suite is said to have been the preferred accommodation for Queen Elizabeth II, which is no surprise with the suite’s antique charm made up in modern elegance. The King of Pop, Michael Jackson, stayed in the same suite when he visited Singapore.

Raffles Singapore even offers special Personality Suites, commemorating famous guests who stayed at the hotel, which include the likes of Elizabeth Taylor and John Wayne. William Somerset Maugham and Sidney Sheldon have also stayed at the hotel and Somerset Maugham’s suite has a personal letter that’s been preserved (now that’s something I’d love to see!).

3. Capella Singapore - rumored to have hosted Taylor Swift (from USD 744)

Situated on Sentosa Island and surrounded by glitzy theme parks, Capella Singapore offers a semblance of seclusion within the urban jungle. The property, besides offering the usual rooms and suites, also offers villas and three exquisite manors. Taylor Swift is rumored to have stayed in one of these manors during her Eras Tour in Singapore, and there’s no surprise as to why. Beyond the solitude, the manors each have a private pool and are surrounded by lush greenery; however, they differ in their design. The Colonial Manor is personally enticing for me since it flawlessly blends historic accents with modern design, providing the essence of Singapore in a home!

Auriga, the highly rated on-site spa, is the perfect place to unwind amidst Sentosa’s rainforests, and looking at the offerings, I would personally prefer their Signature Moon Ritual after a day out in the city.

Capella Singapore was also the venue for the DPRK-USA Singapore Summit and welcomed President Donald Trump and Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un for nuclear peace talks, signaling the sense of exclusivity offered by the property. Madonna and Lady Gaga are also said to have stayed at the hotel.

4. The Fullerton Hotel Singapore - popular with sports legends (from USD 303)

The Fullerton Hotel is another destination that’s a favorite with state dignitaries, and it has hosted Queen Elizabeth II and Gloria Macapagal Arroyo, who served as the President of the Philippines. The Neoclassical facade lends an aura of nobility that is unique among other historic hotels in Singapore, and the towering white columns and boldly angular sections of the structure make it an unmistakable part of the cityscape. I’ll for sure get a photo for my Instagram with this hotel!

Though the hotel has mostly stayed true to its roots, its surroundings have undergone numerous changes, the most significant of which is the acquisition and redesign of Clifford Pier by The Fullerton Hotel. Clifford Pier was an iconic landmark of the city and was the major landing point of Singapore, but it has now been converted into a luxurious restaurant and event venue under The Fullerton Hotel.

The Clifford Pier in its yesteryears hosted the Maria Sharapova Exhibition Match, attended by numerous popular tennis players including Sharapova herself. The Fullerton Hotel seems to have remained popular among sports stars through the years, particularly for members of Borussia Dortmund, and it recently hosted a welcome dinner for the club’s Asia Tour. Mats Hummels and Marco Reus were some of the players spotted at the hotel.

5. The St. Regis Singapore - famous for housing political dignitaries (from USD 356)

The St. Regis Singapore is acclaimed for its hospitality, and is rumored to have hosted Xi Jinping and Hillary Clinton in the past. The dignitaries are supposed to have been housed in the hotel’s Presidential Suite (a bit too on the nose!) which is adorned with crystal chandeliers, chic furnishings, and exquisite views, especially from the balcony. Every inch of the hotel is designed to impress, and nowhere is this particularly apparent than at the restaurant. Built like a palace with large chandeliers, tall windows draped with golden curtains, and glowing floral motifs, this is one place the guests will be stunned by the food and the ambiance. I’m pretty sure I’ll have a perfect day if I can dig into The Astor Grill’s signature ribs!

With the hotel being situated on Singapore’s famous Orchard Road, you have easy access to all the action of the downtown area, making the property a perfect spot for celebs to stay and get to know the true heart of the city. Victoria Beckham is purported to have stayed here on one of her visits to Singapore.
