The speed and precision as they mix the ingredients (which you can order customized, by the way) will have you in awe. Great news for vegans, Nagataya-Ya also serves vegetarian and vegan options. You might want to carefully plan your visit here, though, since it can get really crowded during lunchtime and after hours.

3. Hassei
Enjoy a variety of local cuisines when you visit Hassei, from the Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki, soba noodles, and other choices of food, both light and heavy. The ambiance of the place is great, and it will make you feel like you blend well with the locals. 4. Sushitei Hikarimachi
This is the place you should visit when you’re craving sushi and sashimi while in Hiroshima. Sushitei Hikarimachi is probably the locals’ best-kept secret when it comes to sushi. As you will see when you visit, the locals also swarm the place, not just tourists. You can order from the set menu that they provide. Sit by the bar, and you will see the chefs work their magic in preparing your sushi. As they also speak good English, you can make the order straightaway. The service from both chefs and staff is thoughtful and friendly, and you will have a fantastic time dining here.

5. Yakigaki No Hayashi
Yakigaki No Hayashi is known to use oysters with the highest quality and also the freshest ones, with a cooking method that has been passed down for generations since the day they first opened their doors. Since 1948, they are known as the first place to serve shell-cooked oysters in Japan and have been keeping up the standard to this day. Located near the Miyajima Ferry Terminal, only an eight-minute walk, you can find this restaurant with no hassle. Make sure that you try the fresh raw oyster when visiting Yakigaki No Hayashi. With 10 years of clean results on their own norovirus testing, there is no doubt of the quality of their raw oysters.

6. Nonta Sushi
Experience the fun of plucking colorful plates of sushi, sashimi, and even desserts from the rolling conveyor belt when you visit Nonta Sushi. Although, you might want to check first the coded prices of the plates so that you aren’t shocked by the amount that you have to pay after you finish your meal. Nonta Sushi is located on Pacela Shopping Centre’s basement floor, just under the Rihga Royal Hotel. Even with their unusual location, you don’t have to worry about the quality of their food, since the restaurant has gained a reputation for a long time of using only the locally caught fish.

7. Tempura Tenkou

Then, they can also decide if they’re going to grill the meal themselves or have the expert chef from the restaurant to prepare it for them. 9. Koba
This bar in Hiroshima is owned by a rock music fan and it’s dedicated to everyone, with or without rock music knowledge. With rock memorabilia decorating the walls from top to bottom, it’s not hard to feel at ease and expecting fun times when you’re at Koba. The owner, Tsuyoshi “Bom-san” Mitsuyuki, made the small bar as a place where tourists and locals would have a good time when they visit this unique place. He’s friendly and would love to welcome new guests and regulars, even though he might have a little challenge in communicating due to the language barrier.
