La Spezia is a port city in Liguria, Italy. The city is well known for its seafaring heritage, with its 1800s maritime arsenal and the Technical Naval Museum that boasts of ship models and navigational instruments. Meanwhile, La Spezia’s hilltop St. George’s Castle is home to an archaeological museum featuring artifacts from prehistory to the Middle Ages.
