It’s no secret that Delhi has a storied past - it has been under the rule of several dynasties, including Mughals and the British. The city’s turbulent past has moulded it into the lively, multicultural place it is today. And this is evident in the many bars dotted across the city. From super cool bars nestled within the premier hotels to quirky little cocktail bars where art, design and drinks mix, the capital has it all. It’s worth noting that many bars in the capital have a 1 am curfew, so if you plan for a longer session, pick your spot carefully. Here’s a rundown of the best bars in Delhi, India, where you’ll never go thirsty or hungry.

1. Hauz Khas Social

Regular live music events are hosted here. Besides the drinks and atmosphere, the food is another reason to visit this venue. It is filled with American, continental, Indian and Chinese dishes.

I also love photography, which I have become very good at. Many tourists have enjoyed my personal sightseeing tours. I enjoy meeting people and showing them my world. My lifelong experiences here, combined with my studies, allow me to help people get to know the real India. If you enjoy learning about this way of life, I am the one to come to! I work mainly in Agra, but will create tours to places outside of the city. While my tours are mostly walking tours around the city, I can arrange for transportation as well. If you need accommodation services, I can provide that too. Traveling to India is not just a journey, but an experience!

The Library Bar

The Library Bar is perfect to lounge in during the winter or summer, as its interior is both warm and inviting, with Chesterfield chairs and a fireplace. Rare and first edition of tomes from all over the globe also adorn the bar. But as spectacular as the decor is, the pièce de résistance is the cocktail menu, which includes hundreds of brands of single-malt whiskeys, wine, and champagne labels. Try the ‘Louis 13 Special Cask’, which is a mix of different batches of cognac and infused with Habanos cigar smoke, or sample the 'Black Ceremony’, which is a mix of champagne, black pearl cognac, and caviar. Besides the cocktails, it also has some of the finest cigars on offer, in addition to Italian and continental dishes.

The Junkyard Cafe is a great go-to spot if you’ve got an affinity for whimsical art, live music, exotic cocktails, cold beers and an effortlessly sophisticated menu filled with Indian, Asian and Mediterranean dishes. Indoor and outdoor seating is part of its appeal, too. During the evening, you can venture outdoors - which is beautifully lit up - and enjoy an alfresco meal with some casual drinks.
