Ranchi, the capital of Jharkhand, draws visitors with its staggering beauty and wealth of natural attractions. One of the best ways to experience this is by traveling to the city via train. Of the city’s two railway stations, Hatia Railway Station is on the smaller side, meaning it is less packed. If you’re planning to travel to or from here, I would suggest you keep your belongings ready to go, as most trains tend not to stop here for too long. You’ll also find snack vendors inside, but if you need something more substantial to eat, it’s advisable to bring your own food.
Outside the station, you’ll find many auto-rickshaws, the preferred way to travel in Ranchi and a lot cheaper than cabs!

1. Hotel The Raso
Only a five-minute drive from the station, Hotel The Raso has made a name for itself thanks to its comfortable rooms and good food. But the reason I’d recommend this property is thanks to its event-related amenities. Whether you’d like to organize a birthday party or a small meeting, you’ll find the amenities here sufficient.
When you’d like to step out, Spring City Mall is close by and has shopping and eating outlets along with a cinema hall. I find the food court to be the most cost effective!

2. Hotel Park Inn
Hotel Park Inn is well known among locals for a few reasons, including its comfortable rooms and proximity to Hatia Railway Station, which is only a five-minute drive away. My favorite thing about this hotel, however, is the delicious Chinese menu in the on-site Pooja Restaurant, named after the owner’s daughter.
If you’re looking for things to do nearby, my suggestion would be to pack a nice picnic and head to Dhurwa Dam with your loved ones. The gorgeous MECON Rose Garden is also close by.

3. Jade Square (from USD 90)
Relatively new, Jade Square is one hotel I’m always in awe of thanks to its lovely exterior. I’d suggest walking out of the hotel in the evening to catch a glimpse of the lovely lights that decorate its walls. While you’re outside, visit Spring City Mall, a two-minute walk away, entertainment and dining options.
Although I haven’t stayed here, I’m told the interiors are equally dazzling and feature a host of incredible amenities to keep guests comfortable, including plush beds.
4. FabHotel Emerald (from USD 30)
FabHotel Emerald is under 10 minutes away from the station by car, making it an excellent option for travelers on the go. I’d recommend this for the location alone, but if that doesn’t convince you, perhaps the delicious breakfast here will.
If you’re looking for something to take home to your loved ones, I’d suggest visiting Manjushree Sweets & Bakery. The milk cake and rasmalai from here are permanent fixtures in my home! Spring City Mall is also right down the road for some entertainment.

5. FabHotel Amaltas (from USD 20)
15 minutes from Hatia Railway Station by car, FabHotel Amaltas is worth checking out for a few reasons. Its cleanliness has always impressed me, as have amenities such as free Wi-Fi. It’s also set in a quiet area, so you’ll get plenty of beauty sleep.
If you have time to spare, I’d suggest visiting Yellow By Cafe Bae, a great restaurant nearby. Although the pizza here is much celebrated, and for good reason, my personal favorite is the chicken ramen!

If you’d like to enjoy this city to the fullest, pack your bags, book a train ticket, and get ready for an fun-filled getaway.
