Are you looking for an island vacation? Trip101 has partnered with Filipina travel content creator Nikka Pesudas to share her getaway experience at Tugawe Cove Resort. Located on Caramoan’s balmy shores, this resort happens to be the only 4-star resort in the municipality. While here, guests will be transported into a world of towering limestone karsts, clear blue waters, pristine white sands, and lush trees swaying in the ocean breeze.
Tugawe Cove Resort also takes pride in its appearance on the popular TV show “Survivor”, in the episode “Zipping Over the Cuckoo’s Nest”, where the winners are rewarded with a scrumptious meal on the premises. The municipality is no less alluring than the resort and is known for Caramoan National Park, a 347-ha (857.45-ac) haven. Fans of “Survivor” will love to visit Gota Beach and Omang Cave, which were among the show’s filming locations.
So, if you’re planning a holiday full of sun, surf, and sand, check out this review by Nikka for the best place to stay!

Elevated bliss a in hilltop cabana
Nikka chose the lovely hilltop cabana for her stay, marking its proximity to the infinity pool and restaurant as the reason for her choice. She also loved the “calming view” from the balcony. Apart from this, the accommodation comes with a king-size bed for restful nights, a full mirror and vanity to help you look your best, a TV set for entertainment, and a spacious bathroom to freshen up in.
Exploring wonderland: What to do at Tugawe Cove Resort
One of the best things you can do when you first arrive at Tugawe Cove Resort is simply walk around the grounds. “We were in awe of how big it is and how beautiful the beach area is,” remarked Nikka when touring the resort’s premises. According to her, the resort’s beauty is only enhanced by the fact that several of its facilities are free to use, including the kayaks.
You can spend all your time familiarizing yourself with the eddies of the waters on a kayak or paddleboard. Alternatively, jump into their gorgeous infinity or beach infinity pool for a safer swim. If you’re on the hunt for photographic jewels to add to your feed, a ride on the tram or a visit to the viewing deck will offer you the vistas you’re looking for.
A game room is also available for those fiercely competitive family nights.
Flavors of paradise: What to eat in Tugawe Cove Resort
Tugawe Cove Resort offers a variety of options in everything, even food. Choose from Cecilia’s Restaurant, Tugawe Cove Cafe, and Pizza Bar, depending on your mood. Nikka gave Cecilia Restaurant, which serves yummy Bicol specialties, a glowing review, saying, “We didn’t regret a single ulam.”
Customizable dining experiences are also available, whether you’d like to have a peaceful picnic by the lighthouse or a romantic dinner on the beach while stargazing. Both experiences were appreciated by Nikka, who said they were memorable.
How to get to Tugawe Cove Resort from Manila
The journey from Manila to the resort is divided into three steps, starting with a flight via Cebu Pacific Air from the capital to Virac Airport. Then, you can travel to Codon Port, which will take 45 minutes via road. Feel free to check with the resort and request them to arrange land transfers for an additional fee.
Once you’re at the port, simply hop on a boat to take you straight to the resort. This journey can take between 30 to 45 minutes depending on the condition of the sea.
Tugawe Cove Resort offers endless possibilities
For Nikka, her stay in Tugawe Cove Resort will be something to remember forever. “I feel recharged, calm, loved, and most importantly, I feel light,” she concluded.
