Compared to Calangute, Baga beach is quieter and also more isolated. This Calangute tourist place is an extension of Calangute Village and, still, one of the more popular beaches of Goa, and hosts the Great Live Music Festival. This beach sees throngs of tourists, all year round, who come for Baga’s brown sand and fun activities.

You can join in the water sports here, which include parasailing, windsurfing, jet skiing and water skiing, as well as dolphin cruises. The period from November to February is the most pleasant time to visit Baga Beach, but also the busiest.

Popular as a Goan picnic spot, you can pack a lunch and bring it here and take a bath in the medicinal water. You can reach the springs by following the narrow road after the Bom Viagem Convent.

9. Church Of St. Alex

The Church of St. Alex is one of the first churches founded by the Franciscans. It is an ancient and beautiful church, located on Calangute Beach. The architectural beauty of the church is quite impressive and appealing, which is the main reason it is set apart from the other churches in the area. It has two towers, striking altars, and a marvelous dome.

The white dome can be viewed from the entrance and is the main attraction of the church. The ornate altars are worthy of the praise that it gets from every tourist. This place to visit in Calangute was originally founded in 1595 and is considered to be one of the oldest surviving churches in Goa.
