Ahichchhatra used to be the ancient capital of Northern Panchala, a mythological Indian kingdom. The ruins of this city was discovered in Ramnagar, in Aonla, Bareilly in the northern Indian State of Uttar Pradesh and is thought to be from a period before 600 BC to 1100 BC. Bareilly’s ancient fortress city of Ahichchhatra, was a platform for Bareilly to serve as a part of the influential kingdoms which ruled India. This place is a must see for those interested in historical places and who love ancient archaeology.
