Mitchell’s Ice Cream first opened its doors to the public on June 6, 1953. The two founders of the humble shop, Larry and Jack Mitchell, only had one thing in mind at the time: to put out the best ice cream in San Francisco. They first started out with 19 flavors, which were all made with 16 percent butterfat cream and honest ingredients. Utterly the best in the scene, it now features 40 classic and imaginative flavors. The shop also sells cakes, just in case you are in the search for a different form of dessert.
