1. Merlion Park

The Merlion Park near the CBD is one of the major tourist attractions in Singapore and it overlooks the picturesque Marina Bay. It is home to the iconic Merlion statue of a mythical creature with the head of a lion and the body of a fish – which is 8.6 meters (28.2 feet) tall. The Merlion spurts water from its mouth and is a much-photographed attraction. There is also a Merlion cub near the original Merlion, which is 2 meters (6.6 feet) high. You can take a leisurely stroll around this beautiful park and click pictures with Singapore’s famous mascot. There are several cafes that you can even grab a bite at!

Merlion Park Merlion Park

Day or night, the Merlion Park is a popular and iconic landmark for locals and travelers! After the closure of the biggest Merlion in Sentosa, the statue at Merlion Park is the biggest in Singapore! You get great view of Marina Bay (Marina Bay Sands, Arts Science Museum, Singapore Flyer and Esplanade). This is a must-visit place in Singapore! Head there early in the morning to avoid the crowd and photo-bombers.

2. Helix Bridge

This famous pedestrian bridge in Singapore is perfect for soaking in aerial views of the Marina Bay. The Helix Bridge is an architectural marvel and links the Marina South to the Marina Centre and makes navigating easy for people. This popular bridge has viewing platforms as well so you can click pictures against spectacular backdrops of the city. At night, the Helix Bridge is beautifully lit up and this popular landmark in Singapore should be on your must-visit list!

3. Marina Barrage

While its practical purpose is to serve as a reservoir, the Marina Barrage in Singapore is much more than just a dam! That’s right, the Marina Barrage also acts as a place for recreation and it is a popular tourist attraction. Built across the Marina Channel, you can enjoy a picnic here amid the greenery and watch the spectacular sunset over the water as evening sets in. 4. Cavenagh Bridge

This popular landmark in Singapore holds the distinction of being one of the oldest bridges in the city. You can go for a leisurely stroll on the Cavenagh Bridge, a suspension bridge which is built over the Singapore River. The Cavenagh Bridge is all lit up at night and looks pretty. You can gaze at the boats and ferries below this pedestrian bridge and watch the reflection of the lights twinkling in the water. The bridge, situated near the Fullerton Building and Empress Place, is also near some sculptures such as the famed one of the Singapura cat family.

5. City Hall

The City Hall building in Singapore is one of its national monuments and this historical building is in the Downtown Core. This popular landmark lies opposite Padang and it is next to the Supreme Court. You can marvel at the intricate architecture of the building, which is perfect for some Instagram-worthy picture. Walk around the lively area to soak in the city’s atmosphere or head to the Raffles City Shopping Centre or Adelphi for some shopping! Music lovers can watch a concert at the Capitol Theatre, which is a short walk from the City Hall building.

6. Fort Canning Park

7. Raffles Landing Site

This iconic site in Singapore is where, according to lore, its founder Sir Stamford Raffles landed in 1819. Raffles Landing Site is situated in Singapore’s CBD at the Boat Quay. A statue of the founder, which is made of poly-marble, denotes the site. This statue is on Singapore River’s north bank side. Tourists frequently snap up pictures at Raffles’ statue, which shows him with folded arms. You can take plenty of selfies at this popular landmark to commemorate your travels.

9. The Esplanade

To experience Singapore in all its glory, a walk down the scenic waterfront – the Esplanade – is a must for any traveler. The Esplanade is in Singapore’s Downtown Core and it lies north of the Singapore River’s mouth. A stroll along the waterfront at night is magical as you can see the city’s skyline all lit up. The lights reflect on the water, transporting you to a different world. You can also catch a concert at the Esplanade - Theatres on the Bay, which is in the vicinity or shop at the Esplanade Mall.

The picture above is Marina Bay Sands and not Esplanade.  Esplanade is a spiky twin-domes building, and sometimes we like to name it as Durians, as the outlook design is spiky and rounded which looks like durians.

The best time to walk along the Esplanade Waterfront is during the sunset hour or blue hour where you get to see the setting down of the sun and get to see the gradual light up of the scenic Esplanade and City landscape.

10. Singapore Flyer

This Singapore landmark will remind many of you of the London Eye. The Singapore Flyer is also a massive observation wheel like its British counterpart. This white Ferris wheel has dominated the city’s skyline since 2008 and it is a popular tourist attraction. The Singapore Flyer has 28 capsules, all of which are air-conditioned.
