Sentosa is a small island in the southern part of the coast of Singapore. The island was previously known as ‘Pulau Belakang Mati’, which means 'The Island After Death’ in Malay. Considered as a strategic location, four defensive forts were built on the island in the 1880’s by the British forces: Fort Siloso, Serapong, Imbiah, and Connaught. Fort Siloso later became a prisoner-of-war camp when Singapore fell to the Japanese from 1942 until 1945 when Singapore was returned to British colonial rule. The island’s name was changed to Sentosa resulting from a naming contest in 1970. Sentosa is derived from the Malay word ‘Santosha’, which means peace and contentment. Fast-forward to today, Sentosa is a popular destination for locals and foreigners who visit the island for both business and leisure. Dubbed as 'Asia’s Favourite Playground’, it has luxurious hotels, nature parks, themed attractions, casino, world-class golf courses, restaurants, and white sandy beaches. Its land is comprised of 70% of secondary rainforest with an extensive array of vegetation, trees, and wildlife, including peacocks, birds, butterflies, reptiles, and monkeys.

If you’re planning for a night of getaway, we have rounded up our top 10 Sentosa hotels on the island and highlighted each hotel’s unique features. The average price range of these hotels is between 200 USD (275 SGD) and 370 USD (500 SGD) per night. It is always best to plan your escapade ahead to take advantage of hotel promotions.

We handpicked these listings carefully, considering (wherever possible) Superhost status, recent guest reviews, location, accommodation type, prices, availability of dates, decor, and amenities. The image galleries get refreshed with the latest updates regularly. They were last updated on April 07, 2024.
