One of the best gyms in Bali

Editor’s Note: Indie Fight Club Gym is permanently closed.

There are many hotels in Bali, but Indie Fight Club Homestay is the only one offering great workout facilities in the Denpasar area. And Indie is not just a regular gym. It is a mixed martial arts gym, complete with two boxing rings. As it recently opened in September 2017, both its accommodation and gym are equipped with new stuff. Therefore, you will be hitting both a new bed and new punching bags.

The gym facilities are located in the middle of this property. Whether it is for a quick workout using gym equipment, a one hour session of Muay Thai with the kru and local athletes, or some laps in the swimming pool, it will only take you a few minutes to get there. And even though the gym is open to the public, these facilities are limited to gym members and homestay guests only.

Indie Fight Club is located on Jalan Tukad Pakerisan, Denpasar. Right across from the gas station, you can see a street with Komplek Putri Garden at the entrance next to the Indie Fight Club sign. Go straight to the end of the street and you will find it. To find out more about the gym and its membership, read this article: Fighter 101: Where To Stay Sharp And Fierce In Bali.

Rooms available for all

Editor's Note: There's no photo available at the time of writing

Being a fighting camp doesn’t mean Indie Homestay is only available for either pro or amateur fighters. Signing up for the gym’s membership is not a must, but it is a privilege for all guests. There are 11 rooms available with three different types of accommodation: 5 ensuite rooms, 3 deluxe rooms, and 3 hostel rooms. Here are some information regarding the room facilities:

Ensuite:

45 USD (approximately 600,000 IDR) per night

private bathroom with hot and cold shower

queen-sized bed

Deluxe:

32 USD (approximately 425,000 IDR) per night

shared bathroom with hot and cold shower

shared room with two queen-sized beds (one for each guest)

locker with keys available

Hostels:

16 USD (approximately 215,000 IDR) per night

shared bathroom with hot and cold shower

shared room with six bunk beds for six guests

Hostility inside the ring, hospitality outside the ring

Whichever room you choose among the three types, you will get free breakfast every morning and fresh sheets upon request. You will also get access to the common room where you can watch cable TV or read some books from the mini library. A shared kitchen is also available as a common facility where you can use the fridge, stove, microwave, cooking and dining utensils and get yourself free water to drink.

There are two two-story buildings, one in the front and another one in the back. Both have one common room on every story. However, the kitchen is only available at the back building, where the owners also live. They are very friendly people who speak English fluently. And they will keep you company in the common areas from time to time. If you prefer privacy and peace, you can pick any room in the front building by giving them prior notice via booking by phone (+628197270727).

To make sure you get your preferable room, I recommend you book prior to your arrival, especially for a long term stay. However, walk in guests are also welcomed. All you have to do is get to the reception desk across from the locker room next to the pool.

Get a taste of the ultimate fighting accommodation

Indie Fight Club offers many kinds of martial arts classes you can join. The most popular are Muay Thai, boxing, and Brazilian jiu jitsu or BJJ. In addition to all of those, there is also ginastica natural class, which is the foundation of strengthening and conditioning for all kinds of martial arts disciplines. Choose your discipline and your room type to get the best price and a package custom made for you. And here is the best part: while regular gym members have their sessions in a group, you will have the luxury of private one-on-one sessions with the trainer.

Indie offers this exclusive experience bundled with a two-week stay. Within those two weeks, you will get daily private sessions with the trainer (for Muay Thai, Boxing, and BJJ) plus eight to ten sessions of ginastica natural class. Sessions are available from morning to evening. A detailed schedule is available at the reception desk.

This two-week package is priced differently for each room type. Hostel guests will be charged 1,500 USD (approximately 20 million IDR) for two weeks Muay Thai/Boxing training and accommodation per person, and 1,790 USD (approximately 24 million DR) for BJJ. As for deluxe room guests, the price is 1,630 USD (approximately 21.5 million IDR) for Muay Thai/Boxing and 1,990 USD (approximately 26.5 million IDR) for BJJ. And for the best experience, which is bundled with the ensuite room, it is 1,800 USD (approximately 24 million IDR) for Muay Thai/Boxing and 2,190 USD (approximately 30 million IDR) for BJJ. If you are interested in this package for a shorter period of stay, please contact Indie Homestay via the phone number given above.

Push your limits while enjoying the tropical paradise

Others may go to Bali for slacking off by the beach and building a sexy tan. But your kind of sexy is being fit and fierce. While others countdown to midnight, you count down to the next round of your pad work or another roll of tap out game. But it doesn’t mean you cannot enjoy the tropical goodness. For those reasons, staying at Indie Homestay is what you need. Wake up to the sound of bags being punched and feel rejuvenated for your next workout session. No matter what level you are as a martial artist, or simply just a workout enthusiast, leave it to the hands of Indie’s highly respected, experienced trainers.
