Ocean Restaurant by Cat Cora is a unique underwater dining place established by Resort World Sentosa (RWS) and world renowned celebrity chef: Cat Cora. The restaurant is connected to one of the attractions on Sentosa Island, which is located on the southern coast of Singapore. Dining by an aquarium is a new concept that promises to leave you with an unforgettable experience.

Simply romantic

Guests can choose to visit the SEA Aquarium before dining at the restaurant, and can access it directly without exiting. Those without an admission ticket to the SEA Aquarium must enter via basement 1 car parking, near section M.

Walking into the restaurant almost feels like you’ve stepped into an underwater world where the atmosphere is absolutely romantic and charming. The dimly lit restaurant is elegantly decorated with blue lighting on the ceilings, and the sides are surrounded by a giant aquarium. The restaurant is suitable for couples celebrating special occasions as well as parents with young children wanting a close view to the sea world.

At times, there may be young children who get excited seeing the fishes. Fortunately, the calming jazz music in the background will make up for the screams from the overly excited children.

Reserve early to get the tables by the aquarium

The restaurant is not too big, but the tables are arranged in three main rows, which creates an illusion of being more spacious The tables closest to the aquarium requires an advanced reservation. If you are intending to go on a Friday or Saturday, you are recommended to book at least 2 to 3 months in advance, otherwise a 1 month notification is usually fine.

Sitting in the 2nd or 3rd row does not mean that you can’t see the aquarium, or that it would be entirely blocked by the diners ahead. Nonetheless, the experience is more magical when you are near the aquarium watching the fishes swim by as you dine.

A sweet treat on the house

When making a reservation by phone, you will be asked if you are celebrating any special occasion. If yes, you will be surprised with a sweet treat for free! The polite staff will bring along a slice of cake, with a candle and the message - either happy birthday or happy anniversary on a piece of dark chocolate. That’s super sweet of the restaurant when they offer a sumptuous list of deserts on their menu.

A good list of wines and champagne

The menu offers a good list of alcoholic beverages as well as non-alcoholic drinks, such as fruit juices. The selection of food can be rather limited as they have about 4-5 dishes of both seafood or meat. The lobster dumplings are pretty delicious and unique, but the portion can be small. The escargot soup is also pretty good, and it is filling, even though the portions are small.

For dinners, you can also select the set meal, costing around 118 SGD to 168 SGD (~83 USD to 118 USD), which comes with an appetizer, main course, and dessert. For ala-carte dishes, do expect to spend at least 80 SGD (roughly 55 USD) per person. If you are pay using a mastercard for ala-carte dishes, you get to enjoy 10% off your bill!

An excellent choice for special occasions

Ocean Restaurant is not a place that you would visit on a regular basis, but it is fabulous for special occasions, such birthdays or anniversaries. The restaurant also serves executive lunch sets so it would be a great place for your next meeting place with your business clients. Regardless of the occasion, you are bound to be blown away when you step into this underwater world.
