Quezon Memorial Circle is where an impressive 217-foot (66-meter) mausoleum represents the second president of the Philippines. Fact: The remains of the said second president (Manuel L. Tip from Trip101 local expert
Quezon Memorial Circle is also home to several green spaces, largest of which is the flower garden. I find these places to be a nice, relatively quiet space. It has many shaded spots, though I always see them already occupied by couples or families taking a rest. There are also stalls that sell seeds, seedlings, and saplings for aspiring plantitos and plantitas (plant-caring uncles and aunts). Unfortunately, when I checked, they weren't selling carnivorous plants; I was looking for a passive method for insect control for our kitchen.

Traveler's tips
If going to concerts is your love language, then Smart Araneta Coliseum is the place to be! Back in 2022, I was lucky enough to see Louis Tomlinson perform live, and it was the best experience of my life. I sang along to my favorite hits with my loved ones and admired the lights. It is a surreal feeling to see your favorite artist live, and it is definitely something that I would do again. Plus, this arena is huge, but make sure to check out their rules and regulations!
8. Parish of The Holy Sacrifice
The Philippines is also attributed to be a religious country, so don’t be surprised to find various beautiful parishes in the area. One of which is the Parish of the Holy Sacrifice, which is also a well-known landmark in the Diliman area. Notice the unique architecture for a parish. The church is designed for Roman Catholicism, which is the major religion for Filipinos.
Parish of the Holy Sacrifice
Address: Parish Office, Apacible St, Diliman, Quezon City, 1101 Metro Manila
Website: Parish of the Holy Sacrifice
Opening hours: 8am-1:00pm
Tip from Trip101 local expert
After stopping by the parish, walk down the road to Area 2, a narrow street lined with small eateries serving everything from chicken wings to shawarma. This was one of my favorite places to have lunch when I was in college because the food was delicious and a lot cheaper than other places on campus. Definitely stop by Crazy Chicken for uniquely flavored bites then wash it down with either a lemonade or a mango graham shake from other nearby stalls.
The great thing is that both Parish of the Holy Sacrifice and Area 2 are just a few steps away from jeepney stops, so you can easily hop on an Ikot or Katipunan jeep after you're done exploring. It's also easy to walk around the UP campus from here. The University is a fairly safe place to walk around, as it's mostly filled with students (although it is a popular place for non-students to visit too).
