5. Visit the Prinzregenten Theater

The Prinzregenten-Theater in Ludwigshafen is an old theater built and run by a private actor and director Bernhard F Dropmann, in the district of Hemshof. A large part of the staged and listed pieces come from the pen of the impresario Bernhard F. Dropmann. The theater features so many actors in its stages weekly but child and youth actors are a keen part of the play in the house. Mannheim Palace is an impressive Baroque structure that initially served as residence to the prince-elects of the House of Wittelsbach. It was completed in 1760 and played an important role in the city’s cultural history. Arrive in the courtyard and capture photos of the elaborate façade, comprising symmetrical wings with off-white and red background and framing. The structure is nearly 450 meters (1,500 feet) wide and covers an area of 6 hectares (15 acres) in total, making it one of the largest palaces in Europe.

Mannheim Palace has shone with a new radiance. Accompanying the restoration of the Enfilade on the Beletage (principal floor), the palace was given back its heart. Here, in the staterooms, several hundred original objects, including furniture, paintings, tapestries, china, and clocks, reflect the courtly atmosphere of days gone by. A very special jewel of the Rococo age can be admired on the ground floor. It’s the former Exhibition Library (Kabinettsbibliothek) of Electress, “Elisabeth Augusta”, the only room in the Mannheim Palace that has been almost completely preserved in its original state.

Rhein-Galerie Ludwigshafen has a very special charm. With the opening of the shopping center, the Ludwigshafener received a direct and attractive access from the city to the Rhine for the first time. The spacious promenade invites you to stay and enjoy with its own gastronomy and create a meeting place for culture and events. The architecture of the center is also reminiscent of the water: with wave-shaped arches and a memorial roof, alternately blue and white at night.
