Located 45 km (27.9 miles) from the airport, the staff allow you to relax the moment you step onto the premises. Friendly, courteous and attentive, from the receptionists to the cleaners to the waiters, the staff at Dona Sylvia are impeccable from the get-go. Taking care of your bags and having everything ready for you, whether you’ve taken the train in (15 km or 9.5 miles to the nearest train station) or a flight, everyone is treated with the utmost importance. The rooms are luxurious and accommodating
The rooms at Dona Sylvia are gorgeous. Featuring Mediterranean style thatched huts, each of the 181 rooms comes with a balcony, tea/coffee makers, electronic safes, mini fridges and flat-screen TVs with cable. There is also bed and bath linens with the large, spacious bathrooms featuring rain-showers and the kind of design one wishes they had in their own house. The rooms are pricey with all-inclusive packages starting at 13,500 INR (197 USD) to 19,500 (285 USD); rejuvenation packages at 10,000 INR (146 USD) to 16,000 INR (230 USD); and the family and friends package at 11,000 INR (160 USD) to 17,000 INR (248 USD) per night, per room. Considering that most of their packages are all-inclusive, it is well worth the money with three restaurants and three bars serving unlimited food and drinks all day. If you don’t want an all-inclusive package, call the resort or go online and you can negotiate your own package; the ease of Dona Sylvia starts with the booking process.
Pool and tennis court are just some of the amenities on offer
The amenities on offer at the Dona Sylvia Resort are second-to-none. The large indoor swimming pool greets you as you leave the reception. Making your way past the pool, you’ll be surrounded by greenery and pink bougainvillea which flower around the homes. A tennis court, a badminton court and a mini-soccer field make up the range of outdoor activities one can participate in here. With equipment on hire (for free!), there’s no excuse not to work up a sweat before jumping in the pool for a swim. Table-tennis and snooker are also available, and if you feel like getting a massage or any kind of Ayurvedic spa treatments, there’s a spa centre on location that caters to your every need.
