From monochrome design in our last listing, we now introduce one that has enough color to be a rainbow. This bright and cheery property is in the heart of the busy Shinjuku area. It’s worth noting that there is not a television in all of the rooms, but free and quick WiFi is provided throughout the hotel. The shared bathrooms boast hot tubs alongside the more traditional bathing facilities. There are only two types of rooms at this property and they are split by gender, so maybe not ideal if you’re traveling as a couple. When you book to stay at a First Cabin location you know what to expect. They have various locations across Japan and the one in Kyobashi is no different, with excellent customer service and convenient facilities. The under bed storage means that your belongings will stay neat and tidy. Guests can also take advantage of the additional onsite amenities including a spa-style bath. Perfectly relaxing and cozy.
20. Glansit, Akihabara (from USD 25)
Can you see what they’ve done here? We’ve all heard of glamping but now this unique hotel has merged the word ‘transit’ and 'glam’ to create 'glansit’. And you know what? We love it! This popular hotel has a very boutique feel and is an absolute must stay if you’re in the area of Akihabara. All of the pods are equipped with a wardrobe, a flat-screen TV and a shared bathroom. The shared spaces are designed around soft wooden colors while the pods themselves have a very modern feel with primarily monochrome styling. As usual, there are lots of room options but this is a great place for two female friends because they have one room, with two single beds that you can share together.
