Singapore may just be a little red dot on the world map, but it has lots to offer to visitors of diverse interests. If you feel like escaping from the crowded city to enjoy the nature and beach for a short retreat, head to Sentosa – a popular island attraction easily accessible by a short monorail, scenic cable car ride or by foot via the Sentosa Boardwalk in southern Singapore. Rest assured that your retreat will be a memorable one at Equarius Hotel, the newest luxurious hotel to be added to the Resorts World Sentosa (RWS) hotel chain in 2012.

Spacious room so luxurious you don’t feel like heading out

Located along the fringe of a tropical rainforest, all the rooms and suites at Equarius Hotel boast scenic views of either the forest or sea. As seen in the photo above, the deluxe room is really spacious, with a 42-inch plasma TV subscribed to cable vision placed on the multi-directional TV rack, multiple IT outlet dock on the writing desk, large L-shaped settee, as well as a balcony with a coffee table and a panoramic forest view. The room is so big that it can sleep 2 adults and 2 children comfortably if you opt for the deluxe king room, which comes with a king-sized bed. Furthermore, you will get to sleep on the Simmons luxe mattress with premium 400 thread count Egyptian cotton bed linen, so comfortable that you will have problem pulling yourself out of bed!

Although it is common that hotels provide guests with complimentary bedroom slippers, bottled water, coffee and tea, Equarius Hotel provides more than just the basic amenities. You will be delighted to find comfortable polyester slippers, as well as 4 complimentary bottles of water and a selection of quality TWG tea bags for your consumption.

Roomy bathroom for you to freshen and doll up

The total size of the deluxe room is about 51 square metres, but I think about half of it is allocated to the huge bathroom with double vanity areas, large bathtub and separate shower chamber! There is also a 22-inch LED TV near the door to the bathroom. Sounds great for a good long bath in the bathtub without having to miss your favourite movie on cable vision right?

With a separate shower chamber, you need not worry that you appear to be hogging the bathroom when your roommate needs to use the toilet urgently. You may also find pleasure in the complimentary toiletries provided in the bathroom, as they are spa products from the spa located next to the RWS Beach Villas called ESPA. Feel energised and rejuvenated after using the uniquely blended fragrant shower gel, shampoo and conditioner!

Enjoy a peaceful dip with a view in the pool by the Beach Villas

As Equarius Hotel is part of the RWS hotel chain, guests have complimentary access to swimming pools at the 4 RWS hotels in Sentosa, namely Hotel Michael, Hard Rock Hotel Singapore, Festive Hotel and Beach Villas. The nearest swimming pool to Equarius Hotel is by the Beach Villas, just about 2 minutes’ walk from the hotel lobby. It is also a better choice to head to, compared to the other 3 usually crowded pools, if you are yearning for some peace and quiet for a relaxing swim. Over at this pool, you will be able to enjoy an idyllic view of the cable cars with the fine Beach Villas and lush greenery. You can also hop over to the luxurious ESPA after your swim to pamper yourself with a spa treatment, or head to the spacious and well-equipped gym next to it for a great workout.

Indulge in an exquisite dining experience

Located on the first floor of the hotel is Forest, a contemporary Chinese fine dining restaurant by famous local celebrity chef Sam Leong. Indulge in a unique dining concept under a forest canopy-inspired high ceiling at an additional cost of 48 SGD (about 34 USD) for buffet breakfast for 2 if you opt for a room with breakfast. The Chinese dim-sum (small steamed or fried savoury dumplings with different types of fillings) and pastries are palatable, amongst a wide selection of contemporary Chinese and fusion cuisine at the buffet. The airy and woody forest atmosphere perks guests up early in the morning too, creating a more pleasant and refreshing experience.

An outstanding hotel to relax in style

The Equarius Hotel stands out for travellers who are looking for a perfect retreat where you can enjoy nature without being too far away from the main city vibes, because Sentosa is just a 15-minute drive from the CBD. In addition, although the hotel is out of the main tourist belt with famous attractions such as Universal Studios Singapore and casino in Sentosa, a free shuttle service connects guests to the heart of action where the other RWS hotels are, at 15-minute intervals from 10 am to 10 pm daily. Indulge and relax in a luxurious getaway described above from 800 SGD (approximately 566 USD) per night in a deluxe room!
